I am a member of the Radio Society of Great Britain and also a member of Kettering and District Amateur Radio Society.
I take part in various club activities including weekend operating sessions, training, special events and training new members to pass the relevant exams to obtain a licence.
Kettering and District Amateur Radio Society have a shack and meeting room on the site of a secret wartime airfield near the village of Harrington. The club can be heard on air with several callsigns and on most bands. The callsigns used are G5KN, GX5KN, G7KRS as well as the permanent special callsign of GB2HAM standing for Harrington Aviation Museum. There is a museum in the original operations building which houses many exhibits relating to the wartime use of the airfield. For more information on the club go to KDARS and for more information on the airfield and museum then visit Harrington Aviation Museum
